Just today, as I was driving to work, I told myself I should start writing in this blog more often to document funny things that happen as well as to document my time with the girls in Women's Justice on Fridays.
So I swear, I didn't begin this to complain- however, as my day progressed I feel the need to document my frustration now.
So my doctor ordered some Lyme Disease blood test panels to evaluate my condition. I just had to call my insurance, you know the same insurance I pay $50 every two weeks to, to see if they will cover these important tests.
Guess what? They don't. They require my doctor to write a letter explaining the dire need for these tests, and then they will form a "pre-determination" panel and discuss whether my tests should be covered. They, BUSINESS PEOPLE in expensive suits, are going to decide what is best for MY HEALTH. They are not even doctors!! Yet it is up to them. That does not sit well with me.
It all comes back to the damn disease. Lyme Disease. A very real, very tragic disease, yet is not recognized by insurance companies and health providers alike. How many people have to die from complications, how many children have to die, for these evil companies to realize this is something they need to take more seriously. Until one of the CEOs or their kids contract this damned disease, everyone who is suffering remains in the dark- untreated and unhappy. It is maddening.
Leave no CEO behind indeed.
